Happy Onam Days - Chithira the second day of Onam Celebrations

The second day of Onam Days, Chithira, is marked off when a second layer is added to pookalam design with 2 different colours apart from yellow.  Mostly in Chithra Day orange and creamy yellow flowers are using to make pookalam. On Chithira day people starts cleaning the house hold to prepare for the Thiruvonam day.

ഓണാഘോഷതിന്റൈ  രണ്ടാം നാള്‍ ചിത്തിര. പൂക്കളങ്ങള്‍ കുട്ടികളുടെ സര്‍ഗാവിഷ്‌കാരമെന്ന രീതിയില്‍ ഒരുക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ആണ്‍കുട്ടികള്‍ പൂക്കള്‍ ശേഖരിക്കാനും പെണ്‍കുട്ടികള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ പൂക്കളങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് വ്യത്യസ്തമായ രൂപകല്‍പ്പനകള്‍ കണ്ടെത്താനും തുടങ്ങുകയായി.

In Chithra day people have to unleash their creativity and think of the most innovative and creative design. Most of the Kerala Village boys will get the job of arranging flowers for the girls. Girls will add new flowers to Pookalam.  Everybody wishes to invite Lord Maveli in their own house by making the best Pookalam in the neighborhood.

On the occasion of Onam celebration the family members will prepare a long shopping list for the family members and their relatives. It is to be remembered for the family members and especially the children to get prepared to demand. The demand may be all their pending dreams and wishes. The younger family member and children know that all their personal wishes would be wholeheartedly granted on this special occasion.
